To my imagined audience who use this repository to track my vitals, and to whom I will be serving up some Norma Desmond realness tonight, I have 1) not yet gone quietly into that great night and 2) am ready for my close up! Or at least a closer examination of my comings and goings than the radio silence of the last few months.. No good reasons for the long break, but now that I’m thawing out from my winter hibernation, I’m going to try to be better about posting updates here..

Some of the highlights of the last few months include a trip to Miami, during which I slept on a hammock, floated for extended periods of time in an pool with underwater music, and ate very, very good Cuban and Haitian food (and got an awkward car sunburn, because of course). I also had some of the best roasted pork of my life in a Williamsburg meat market (cooked in a 30+ year old bread baking oven), ran to the tunes of scottish bagpipes, got goosebumps watching NPH #killingit in Hedwig and the Angry Inch, and had a more than mildly awkward 4 am encounter with the FDNY (let the latter be a lesson to anyone tempted to fall asleep mid-afternoon during a tv marathon and wake up disoriented and paranoid in the middle of a night when ConEdison is doing monthly gas line maintenance).
